If this is the first time you’re joining us for our thrift store challenge blog hop, the rules are that we have to shop for a thrifted item and turn it into something we can use in our home décor. It can be from an actual thrift store, a garage sale, a trash can, the curb…you get the picture!
Christmas Tree Box
While we were in Branson last month I found this cute little wooden box with a rope tied to it at a thrift shop. It even came with the pinecones! I paid $10 for it and brought it home. It’s been sitting in a corner of my kitchen while I thought about what to do with it!
I’ve really been into matte black lately, so I decided to paint it with Valspar’s Chalky Paint in Boot Black. With Christmas being just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to add a green tree on both sides and add it to my Christmas décor!
I already had the tree stencil from another project using my Cricut so all I needed was the paint.
I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased some green craft paint for the tree. I used spray adhesive to hold the stencil in place while I painted the tree on.
And done! Simple and cute, this little box was a fun addition to our Christmas décor and the free pinecones were the icing on the cake!
Now I’m going to send you off to see what my talented friends came up with!
Thanks so much for taking this tour with us today! I hope you enjoyed it and found some inspiration along the way! Be sure to subscribe to stay up-to-date with the latest DIYs, projects, and recipes!
