I have a fun post for you today! I was asked to be part of a group challenge with some of my blogger friends. Our mission was to find a clearance item and use it in our home decor. It had to stay under $15 and we could revamp it or leave it as is.
I’m always so grateful to be asked to be part of these. We have a blast working together and it’s always fun and inspiring to see what others come up with!

For this challenge, I started out at Hobby Lobby but struck out. So my next stop was Target. I like how they always put their clearance items on the back endcap where they’re easy to find. They had a lot of great items on clearance but finding something under $15 proved to be tricky! I finally landed on this garland for $13.98!
Dining Room Decor
It was the last one on the shelf so I snagged it and started brainstorming on where I could use it.
I recently made these DIY floral prints (you can find the how-to here) and hung them on either side of the mirror in our dining room. The mirror hangs over the buffet we recently refinished (you can see the before here).
I thought the garland, with the copper bells and jute string, would look perfect hanging across the mirror above the floral prints.
Hanging the Garland
I enlisted my hubby’s help to tack it up over the mirror and to make sure it was even. We draped it across and brought it up in the center to create a sort of scalloped look.
I love the way it turned out! It added a pretty touch of detail without making the space look too crowded.
