Good morning friends! I am really excited to share this tablescape post with you today! With it being the first week of September many of us start thinking towards fall and decorating our homes for the season. The dining table is a popular spot to put a centerpiece, tablecloth, and runner to spruce up the room.
Target’s Dollar Section for the Win
But as we all know, it can get pricey! I have to give props to my hubby, he was the one who suggested doing a budget fall-themed tablescape. We were walking into Target for batteries and of course had to stop at the dollar section! They had all of these cute decorations for the fall and he said, “You should do a post about this! See if you can decorate the table using only items from this section!” Genius!
So I did! Everything came from Target’s dollar section and I think it turned out SO cute!
Here’s what we purchased:
Gather Chargers: $3/each
Leaf Appetizer plates: $3/set of two
Mini Chalkboard Easels: $3/set of four
Craft Paper Roll: $3
String Lights (balls): $3
String Lights (leaves): $3
Greenery Garland: $3
Let’s get to work!
First, I rolled the craft paper down the center of the table. I set the chargers at each place. I added a dinner plate and a dessert plate (the beautiful china was passed down to us from my husband’s grandma). Then, I was able to cut the greenery garland into three pieces and reshape it into circles to use on three place settings.
I placed the leaf appetizer plates on the left corner of the setting and a drinking glass on the right. We set a mini chalkboard easel at each spot for writing the guest’s name. Finally, we strung the lights down the center of the craft paper. Ta da!
What do you think? Isn’t it cute?
Here’s the breakdown in cost per person:
Leaf Appetizer Plate (set of two makes them $1.50/ea.)
Mini Chalkboard Easel (set of four makes them .75 cents/ea.)
Greenery Garland (split into three to make it $1/ea.)
TOTAL: $6.25 per place setting!
WOW! If you have six guests, that’s less than $40. Eight guests makes it around $50 and if you add in the craft paper roll and the string lights (you may want two sets of each depending on the length of your table) you’re looking at $50-70 total! Now that’s a bargain!
So if you think your budget is too small to have a beautiful table, think again! Your guests will love the look and feel so special to have their own spot at your dining table!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! I hope you enjoyed this post! If so, let me know in the comments!
