I had not planned on sharing anything Christmas related until after Thanksgiving, but this week has been crazy and I didn’t have time to get the project done I had planned on sharing today! DIY Christmas ornaments to the rescue!

Target’s dollar section really has been amazing lately and I found these cute Christmas stickers that were similar to the ones I used for my DIY Fall Table Décor post you can read about here. I had some leftover tiles from that project and my six-year-old (he’s the cutest!) said, “Hey mom! Why don’t we turn them into Christmas ornaments! We can just add a string to hang them!” I thought that was a brilliant idea!
Christmas Ornaments – What You Need:
1 set of backsplash tiles (we used these)
1 set of stickers (we purchased ours at Target)
hot glue gun
jute rope or colored ribbon
scissors
felt (optional)
The kids helped me place the stickers on the tiles. Some of them weren’t sticky enough so we put a dot of hot glue on the backside of the sticker and then placed them on to make sure they would stay.
After we finished with the stickers I cut the tiles apart using the tips of my scissors. I pocket knife would work great, too. We attached some jute rope I had leftover from another project and hot glued the string to the back of the tile.
Now if you really want to finish them off nicely, especially if you want to give them as a gift (they would look pretty attached to a wrapped present with a bow!) you could cut a piece of red or green or even white felt and attach it to the back of the tile so you don’t see the webbing and ends of the string. I may still do that!
That’s it! A super easy and inexpensive DIY you can do with the kids! We are including ours in the gift the kids give to their teachers for Christmas.
Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a blessed day!
