Using Thrifted Brass Candlesticks for a Fall Themed Hutch
Aren’t garage sales the best? I love garage-sale season and finding treasures in people’s unwanted stuff!
This month I visited my neighbor’s garage sale and found these beautiful brass candlesticks. They belonged to her mother who was down-sizing and needing to purge her collection. I paid $6 for the set of 4.
I know it’s a little early, but I decided to go ahead and get out the fall decor. I’ll be sharing a tour in a later post but today I’m just going to share my hutch. I removed all of the spring florals and everyday items from the shelves to make room for the next season.
Then I went to work styling the shelving with the fall decor. For more tips on styling shelves, check out this post.

I used my smaller thrifted brass candlesticks on either side of my Magnolia corbels. The large brass candlesticks were too tall to fit on the shelves so I placed them on the ledge, one on either side to balance out the look.
I love the colors of fall! It just feels so homey. Add a cinnamon-scented candle and I could linger all day with a good book, a cup of coffee and a comfy chair!
Thanks so much for hanging out with me today! I hope to always provide inspiration and creativity on a budget and appreciate you following along! Have a blessed day and come visit me on Instagram!

Sorry about your recent troubles. Life is very hard sometimes. I sure love your Fall decorated hutch. I’m loving those candlesticks. You’ve inspired me to start decorating a bit for Fall around here, even though it is still 92 degrees every single day. LOL

Oh Dori! You certainly have a lot on your plate! I want you to know that I do think about you and I understand the relationship with your parents. My mom and I made a stride with one mental block that she had but she is unable to continue because she has so many mental blocks from several different situations in her life. I have come to a point to where I have just accepted that this is not something that I can fix. It is up to her and God. It is what is is and even though it is a painful situation, I feel like I am finally free. I am so sorry to hear of your Grandpa’s passing. It is hard to loose a loved one. Keep on working hard with your blog and new business. You can do it. I am rooting for you! We have taken several business adventures in our marriage and sometimes they are successful and sometimes they are not. And that is ok too. Love you my friend!

Dori, I am so sorry for all the drama you are being faced with all at once. I have always been told things you can’t control (one being the family issues) have trust in God that things will work out as they should. I will pray that things will be the best for your mom and your family. The expense of the central unit is crazy. Glad things worked out for that. It seems like things always gets a wrench threw in to things, but your business will take off and you will forget all the troubles it took to get it off the ground. I hope so anyway.
OK about your thrift store find….love finding candle holders as well. I find several myself and love decorating with them. I am in love with your Harvest display. So pretty. Have a wonderful week. Sorry for your loss my sweet friend.
