It’s time for another thrift store challenge! I love joining these sweet ladies each month and seeing their fun finds! This month I found some pretty brass candlesticks I’m going to share with you!
But first I just need to share my heart today for a minute. The last couple of weeks have been tough. We had several things hit us at once. We found out we have to have our whole HVAC replaced and it’s going to cost over $12,000. Thankfully, the Lord provided ahead of time with an unexpected raise that will cover the monthly payments and we’re grateful.
My grandpa passed away on Friday. My relationship with my parents is strained and this puts an added level of grief and stress on the situation. I feel for my mom in the loss of her dad. I wish things were different and I pray that someday there will be healing and restoration. But a lot needs to happen for that to come to pass and it’s in the Lord’s hands.
This Full Life Co.
In the middle of this we were working on launching our online shop and there was a big learning curve with all the details that needed to be researched and figured out. My hubby found me just staring at the computer Saturday morning when he woke up. There were a few things left I needed to figure out but I just COULD . NOT . LEARN . ANOTHER . THING. He said, “Here, let me take that, I’ll figure it out and you go shower.” Translation, “You look crazy and you’re scaring me a little.”
He did finish up the rest (BLESS HIM) and we launched This Full Life Co. yesterday. I’d love for you to check it out!
UPDATE: The shop didn’t work out. Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew and we just didn’t have the time to manage it in this stage of life and with wanting to focus on other things.
Add three kids and all the back-to-school stuff and just busyness of the season of life we’re in and it can be a little overwhelming! I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but if you think about it, I would appreciate some prayers for our family!
I have to revisit my “why” for starting this blog thing often so I don’t get discouraged. The goal is to be home more with my family, to be able to go when I need to go and to have the freedom to set a schedule that works around this busy season of life with our growing kiddos. So we pray and work hard and keep plugging along! Plus, I love it!
Thrifted Brass Candlesticks
Thanks for letting me share! Now back to the thrift challenge!
The rules are that the item(s) has to be thrifted (think Goodwill, garage sales, etc.) and budget-friendly.
This month I visited my neighbor’s garage sale and found these beautiful brass candlesticks. They belonged to her mother who was down-sizing and needing to purge her collection. I paid $6 for the set of 4.
I know it’s a little early, but I decided to go ahead and get out the fall decor. I’ll be sharing a tour in a later post but today I’m just going to share my hutch. I removed all of the spring florals and everyday items from the shelves to make room for the next season.
Then I went to work styling the shelving with the fall decor. For more tips on styling shelves, check out this post.
I used my smaller thrifted brass candlesticks on either side of my Magnolia corbels. The large brass candlesticks were too tall to fit on the shelves so I placed them on the ledge, one on either side to balance out the look.
I love the colors of fall! It just feels so homey. Add a cinnamon scented candle and I could linger all day with a good book, a cup of coffee and a comfy chair!
Now I’m going to send you off to see what my talented friends came up with!
