It’s time again for our monthly Thrift Challenge! I love joining this group of talented ladies each month and seeing what everyone comes up with. This time my find was a vintage washboard and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Thrift Challenge Rules
But first the rules! For this challenge, our item has to be budget-friendly and thrifted from a store, garage sale, etc. Then we have to incorporate it into our home decor. We can leave the item as is or redo it.
This time around I went thrifting in my own garage! I actually found this vintage washboard for a steal at an antique store in Kansas City years ago.
The vintage washboard was manufactured by Maid-Rite in Columbus, OH in the 1940s. I think it’s so cool to have pieces like this showcased and to teach our kids the history of these finds!
This piece had been sitting in storage because I didn’t know where I wanted to put it. When we remodeled our laundry room last winter, (READ THAT POST HERE) there was a perfect place on the wall to hang it. I finally unearthed it last week and put it up over our folding table.
What do you think?
I love the character the piece added to our laundry room!
Now I’m going to send you off to see what the rest of the gals came up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking this tour with us today! I hope you found some fun inspiration for your own home! Have a great day and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a post!
